Hungry for something different?

Taste of History: The roots of diners can be traced back to 1872, when Walter Scott had an idea to park a horse-drawn lunch wagon outside of newspaper offices in Providence, Rhode Island. This innovative concept would become the foundation of the diner as we know it today. As diners became increasingly popular in the 1950s, their appeal was due to their affordable prices, expansive menus, and extended hours. In the 1960s, the diner culture was centered around the counter, as people would often gather to enjoy a soda and sandwich together. Thanks to Scott's initial idea and the evolution of the diner over the years, we can now enjoy a taste of history with every visit to these beloved establishments.
