Did you know? The popular Italian dessert, tiramisu, has long been a source of mystery and debate. While many believe it was invented in the 1960s or 1970s at the renowned Le Beccherie restaurant in Treviso, Italy, there are conflicting theories about its origins. According to the most widely accepted story, tiramisu was the result of a happy accident by chef Roberto Linguanotto. It is said that during the busy hours of the restaurant, the chef accidentally dropped a dollop of mascarpone cheese into a bowl of eggs and sugar, and in a last-minute attempt to save the dish, he added coffee-soaked ladyfingers, resulting in the decadent layered dessert we know and love today. However, there are those who believe that tiramisu's history goes back even further. Some say that it was actually created in the 19th century by a brothel madam in Treviso, who wanted to create a dessert to enhance the amorous desires of her clients. This theory is supported by the Accademia Del Tiramisù, an organization dedicated to preserving the traditional recipe and history of tiramisu.
After all, it's all about the sunshine state
